"Sadly, Jon is retiring. Happily, he's handed the reins to Janet Matlock. She's knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great fun. Despite having lived here for years, we learned a ton. The two hours flew by too quickly. This will be a "must do" whenever we have company not fortunate to live here."

Janet moved to the lowcountry seven years ago. As she learned to love the weather and the culture, she studied the history and architecture of the area, jon sharing his tips with Janet and her friendly nature led her to become a docent giving visitor tours at the oldest church in Beaufort. One fine day, while both she and Jon Sharp were showing the church cemetery to their groups, she overheard his stories and realized what a treasure HE was. She listened to his tour through the graveyard as often as she could, and her own narrative improved. When Jon announced that he was retiring this summer, Janet knew it would be a loss to the community, but gave little thought...until she woke the next day knowing it might be the opportunity of her life...and the rest is history.

"...Jon Sharp's walking tour was the highlight of our Low Country vacation..."
